Canaccord Genuity is latest market maker live on the International Property Securities Exchange
Canaccord Genuity, a leading independent
full-service financial services firm with a footprint of offices serving
clients globally, has become the latest market maker to go live on the
International Property Securities Exchange (IPSX). It joins Peel Hunt and WH
Ireland, playing a crucial role in dealing in securities admitted to trading on
IPSX.
IPSX is the world’s first regulated securities exchange dedicated to
commercial property. It serves retail, professional and institutional
investors. Market makers on the exchange improve liquidity for those investors
by providing ‘buy’ and ‘sell’ prices throughout the trading day.
Canaccord Genuity’s
connectivity to the Fidessa trading platform has facilitated the transition.
Alex Aylen, Head of
Equities at Canaccord Genuity commented: “Becoming the latest market maker on IPSX was a
logical next-step for us, having been admitted as a trading member of the exchange
back in March this year. We have worked well with the teams at both IPSX and
Fidessa making the process swift and trouble free and we look forward to our
equities team securing the first deals and going live on this innovative exchange.”
Alan
Ramsay, IPSX UK Chief Executive commented: “We are pleased to welcome Canaccord Genuity as
our latest market maker. We have been delighted by the response from both the
property and investment communities to our unique proposition in the
marketplace as the world’s only regulated dedicated property stock exchange and
we are well advanced with a programme of exciting admissions in the near future
that will give investors the greatest transparency on their investments and,
with Canaccord’s assistance, daily liquidity – something that is becoming increasingly
rare in property investment.”
